1. Bishop Ahr (22-3) – The Trojans 16-game winning streak was snapped last Monday by undefeated Franklin, the state’s top-ranked team, though Bishop Ahr rebounded with wins over Spotswood and East Brunswick in Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament play. The top-seeded Trojans will face No. 4 seed Middlesex in Tuesday’s GMCT semifinals.

2. Edison (18-5) – The Eagles are seeded No. 2 in the GMC Tournament and cruised past South Plainfield and South River to open their run through the bracket. Edison will play third-seeded J.P. Stevens on Tuesday in the semifinals.

3. Middlesex (21-2) – The Blue Jays posted a perfect 3-0 week, opening with an impressive victory over Union County power Roselle Catholic on Monday, before fourth-seeded Middlesex handled North Brunswick and Piscataway in the GMC Tournament. Middlesex plays top-seeded Bishop Ahr in Tuesday’s semis.

4. J.P. Stevens (18-5) – The Hawks defeated Perth Amboy and Old Bridge in GMC Tournament play last week, and have won five straight overall. J.P. Stevens has a semifinals date with Edison on Tuesday.

5. Piscataway (12-11) – The fifth-seeded Chiefs got their GMC Tournament started with a 63-49 victory over No. 12 seed Monroe in Wednesday’s third round, but were eliminated in Saturday’s quarterfinals, 53-47 by fourth-seeded Middlesex.

6. East Brunswick (16-8) – The Bears were awarded the No. 9 seed in the GMCT, handling J.F. Kennedy and Timothy Christian in blowout wins to start their run. East Brunswick was eliminated Saturday by top-seeded Bishop Ahr.

7. Sayreville (15-8) – The Bombers were the No. 6 seed in the GMC Tournament, earning a bye into the third round, but couldn’t advance, falling to 11th-seeded Old Bridge 54-46 on Wednesday after beating the Bombers in a regular-season game in January.

8. Monroe (11-10) – The 12th-seeded Falcons enjoyed a strong opener to their GMCT, topping Metuchen 64-39 on Monday, but fell to Piscataway for the third time this season, 63-49 in Wednesday’s third round.

9. South River (16-7) – The Rams opened their week as the No. 7 seed in the GMC Tournament and handled Carteret 41-31 in the third round Wednesday. South River put up a solid effort in Saturday’s quarterfinals, but fell to second-seeded Edison 50-37.

10. Carteret (15-9) – The Ramblers were seeded No. 10 in the GMCT, opening with a 69-40 win over New Brunswick on Monday, but fell at South River 41-31 on Wednesday.
