Buckle up, C-Town: the Cleveland Auto Show is rolling in. Just-introduced models like the 2021 GMC Yukon, Kia Seltos, Toyota RAV4 Prime and more will be on display on the North Coast.

In the Forest City and looking for a no-pressure car-shopping environment — or just want a glimpse at the automobiles of the future? Here are the top five things you won’t want to miss at the 2020 Cleveland Auto Show:
1. 2021 GMC Yukon
The redesigned 2021 GMC Yukon debuted recently at the Chicago Auto Show and will make an appearance at the Cleveland show, as well. For the new model year, there are three available engines: the standard 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8, an optional 420-hp, 6.2-liter V-8 or a 277-hp, turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder. All are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and while rear-wheel drive is standard, four-wheel drive is available. The 2021 Yukon comes in several variants to suit various needs: The Yukon XL is an extended-length version of the Yukon. The Denali edition gets luxurious appointments that finally realize the sub-brand’s upmarket aspirations. And the first-ever Yukon AT4 model gets off-road additions like hill descent control.
The also-redesigned 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban — platform-sharing relatives of the Yukon — will be on the show floor in Cleveland, too.
GMC hasn’t yet released pricing information for the 2021 Yukon, but we’ll be on the lookout closer to when the SUV goes on sale in the summer.

2. 2021 Kia Seltos
Also on display in Cleveland will be the all-new 2021 Kia Seltos SUV. This subcompact slots between the Soul and Sportage in Kia’s lineup, but a lot is packed into this small SUV. For one, it’s big on interior and cargo space, with 60/40-split, folding seats and a cargo floor that drops down if you need even more room. Under the hood is a 146-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission, or an available 175-hp, turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. All-wheel drive — a rarity among subcompacts — is standard for all trims save for the S, which is a step above the base model.
The 2021 Seltos starts at $23,110, including a $1,120 destination charge, and Kia says it will be available at dealerships early this year.

3. 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime
While the RAV4 compact SUV got a full redesign in 2019, Toyota has since been adding variants to appeal to different buyers. The latest, a performance plug-in hybrid version, will be on the floor during the show. The RAV4 Prime features a 176-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors for a total output of 302 hp — enough to go 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds, Toyota estimates. Toyota also estimates an all-electric range of 39 miles for the Prime, though the EPA has yet to confirm those figures. Electric all-wheel drive is standard, as is a sport-tuned suspension.
The 2021 RAV4 Prime is expected to hit dealerships in the summer with pricing information announced closer to the release date.

4. 2021 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Back for the first time since 2009, the 2021 Chevy TrailBlazer sees a total overhaul. No longer a rugged-looking truck-based SUV, the new TrailBlazer embraces its car-based platform and is instead a sporty, city-sized vehicle. It’s powered by the standard turbocharged 137-hp, 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, mated to a two-speed continuously variable automatic transmission, or an optional 155-hp, turbo 1.3-liter engine, mated to a nine-speed-automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and selectable all-wheel drive is available. On the inside, the standard 7-inch touchscreen comes with Chevy’s latest Infotainment 3 multimedia system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
When the 2021 Trailblazer rolls onto dealership lots this spring, it will start at $19,995, including a $995 destination charge.

5. Rides, Drives and Test Tracks
Another perk of this non-selling auto show environment is that show-goers have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of some of these cars — a great way to make comparisons across automakers. This year, more than 40 vehicles will be available to ride in or drive, and some brands are upping the ante with off-road and test-track experiences.
Here are all the vehicles available to test-drive:
- Chevrolet: Bolt EV, Blazer, Colorado, Equinox, Malibu, Silverado 1500, Trax, Traverse
- Chrysler: 300S, Pacifica, Pacifica Hybrid
- Dodge: Durango SRT
- Fiat: 500 Abarth, 500X, 124 Spider
- Jeep: Cherokee, Gladiator, Wrangler
- Nissan: Altima, Leaf, Maxima, Rogue, Titan
- Ram: 1500 Limited, 1500 Rebel
- Subaru: Ascent, Crosstrek, Forester, Impreza, Legacy, Outback
- Toyota: Camry, Highlander, Prius, RAV4, Tundra
- Volkswagen: Arteon, Atlas, Jetta GLI, Passat, Tiguan
In addition to these cars you can take for a spin, three indoor test tracks will be available for show goers to experience what it’s like to push these vehicles to their limits. Camp Jeep is offering rides alongside professional drivers on its 18-foot, 35-degree Jeep Mountain. Ram also has a mountain test track on which riders can experience the traction capabilities of Ram trucks. BMW’s off-road xDrive Experience will put the xDrive all-wheel-drive system of the X5 and X7 through its paces.
Times for these rides, drives and test track experiences vary by automaker, so be sure to check the schedule for any you’re interested in.
