COACH OF THE YEAR: Old Bridge fell short in its pursuit of a Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament title, but for much of the regular season, it was the Knights that sat on top in the county.
Under Stephen Gajewski, Old Bridge won 16 games this season and ripped through GMC opponents en route to the No. 1-seed in the county tournament.
Old Bridge rattled off 15 straight wins before a stunning loss to North Brunswick in the county final to stake its claim as the team to beat in the GMC.
Ella Sblano, Abigail Zimmerlink and Lindsay Shafer all played a prominent role in Old Bridge's rise to stardom in Middlesex County.
PLUS: Greater Middlesex Conference all-stars
TEAM OF THE YEAR: This North Brunswick team may not have had the flash of years prior, but the end result was still the same.
The Raiders finished on top in the GMC for the first time since 2016 — and it was a collective team effort that got them there.
Behind Greenberg, Alexis Rich (76 goals, 10 assists), Katherine Manley (55 goals, 48 assists) and Julia Davies (36 goals, 26 assists) all helped North Brunswick win another county championship.
North Brunswick won 16 games this season and its win over Old Bridge in the county final came just weeks after a 10-goal loss to the Knights in the regular season.
