NCAA National Letter of Intent signing period commences for GMC senior student-athletes

Baseball players dominate the list of high school senior student-athletes from the Greater Middlesex Conference who are eligible to ink a National Letter of Intent during the fall signing period.

Please consider revisiting this page today and in the ensuing days as we add photos from official signing ceremonies.

Today marks the beginning of what the NCAA qualifies as the regular signing period for all Division I and Division II sports except basketball and football.

The early signing period for basketball also commences today, while the regular signing period for that sport begins April 17.

Football players can sign during an early period, which starts Dec. 19, or during the regular period, which commences Feb. 6.

Eight GMC baseball players have committed to Division I or Division II schools, according to information from the conference’s athletics directors and published reports. All are eligible to sign during the fall period.

They include Sayreville’s Christian Aich (Pace), Edison's Christian Biolsi (Southern New Hampshire), South Brunswick’s Jacob Ciccone (Lafayette), Old Bridge’s Sonny Fauci (St. John’s), Monroe’s Matthew Fopeano (Caldwell University), Christian Petrillo (Southern New Hampshire University), South Plainfield’s Chris Shine (Seton Hall) and North Brunswick’s Andrew Tan (Binghamton).
