HILLSIDE 39, SOUTH RIVER 0
Defending sectional champion Hillside amassed 534 total yards from scrimmage in a first-round Central Group II playoff win over the Rams.
South River quarterback Michael DeSantis, who enjoyed a spectacular career, was limited to 3 of 7 passing for 13 yards and to 38 rushing yards on nine carries.
Bill Drum rushed 17 times for 62 yards for South River, which will win the Gold Division title if Middlesex defeats Dunellen on Thanksgiving eve.
Hillside, which built a 26-0 lead at halftime, amassed 329 yards on the ground and 205 yards through the air.
