1. Piscataway (6-0): The Chiefs avenged last year’s playoff loss to Bridgewater-Raritan with a 47-0 victory over the undermanned and injury riddled Panthers, who were outgained 455 to 99 in total yards from scrimmage. Juwon Jackson accounted for 235 of Piscataway’s 333 rushing yards. Quarterback Joseph Hatcher threw three touchdown passes in the first half. Hatcher completed 7 of 9 passes for 122 yards. Next: at Sayreville, Friday, 7 p.m.
2. Sayreville (6-0): The Bombers scored three unanswered touchdowns and a field goal to erase a one-point second-quarter deficit on the way to a 30-7 victory over Old Bridge. Connor Holmes carried 19 times for 175 yards including a 21-yard scoring run to pace a Sayreville offense that amassed 319 yards from scrimmage, 243 of which came on the ground. Next: vs. Piscataway, Friday, 7 p.m.

3. North Brunswick (6-1): The Raiders scored on their first seven possessions – including two defensive touchdowns – and added a safety all in the first half on the way to a 49-7 drubbing of Carteret. North Brunswick amassed 259 total yards of offense, 193 of which came on the ground. Brandon Outlaw returned an interception 20 yards for a score and Asaru Napier returned a fumble 13 yards for a touchdown. Arnold finished with four tackles and a sack that produced the safety. Leon Lowrey had five tackles and a pass deflection. Samod Wingo recorded a sack and recovered a fumble. Next: vs. Perth Amboy, Friday, 7 p.m.
4. St. Joseph (6-1): Derek Zelesnik returned the opening kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown and Jordan Davis, who has eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season, finished with 97 yards on 26 carries in a 21-0 win South Brunswick. The Vikings were last shut out in 2009. Zach Blanchard led the defense with a fumble recovery. K’Shawn Shulters blocked a punt that set up a score. Next: at Summit, Friday, 7 p.m.

5. Edison (4-2): Special teams played a huge role in the final frenetic six minutes of a 31-14 victory over East Brunswick. After the Bears closed the deficit to 19-14 with six minutes remaining, they attempted an onside kick, which Frank Vega recovered and returned 49 yards for a touchdown to give Edison a 25-14 lead. On East Brunswick’s ensuing possession, the Bears had a bad snap on a punt, which the Eagles recovered inside the red zone. Lucas Loffredo then threw his third touchdown pass of the night, connecting for the second time with Darius Floyd as Edison took a 31-14 advantage on the 14-yard scoring strike. Loffredo completed 7 of 13 passes for 139 yards. Tylor Montford scored on a 3-yard run and on a 54-yard screen pass for the Eagles. Next: at J.F. Kennedy, Friday, 7 p.m.
6. South Brunswick (4-3): The Vikings were shut out for the first time since 2009 as the offense sputtered in a 21-0 loss to St. Joseph, which has won six in a row. All of South Brunswick’s losses are against teams that have won six games. Next: vs. J.P. Stevens, Friday, 7 p.m.
7. Colonia (4-3): Matt Croteau rushed for three touchdowns and Eric Hamilton-Moreno had two scores on the ground to lead the Patriots to a 42-21 win over New Brunswick. Justice Harris scored on a 1-yard run. He finished with 195 rushing yards on 19 carries. Next: vs. Scotch Plains-Fanwood, Friday, 7 p.m.
8. South Plainfield (3-3): The Tigers allowed an 83-yard touchdown pass and a 27-yard scoring run in a heartbreaking 14-0 loss to Linden, which should return to USA TODAY NETWORK New Jersey’s statewide Top 20 rankings this week. South Plainfield lost three fumbles, one at the goal line and another just outside the red zone. Ashwin DeGroot carried 21 times for 101 yards. The Tigers limited Linden career rushing leader BJ George to 74 yards on 18 carries. Next: vs. Woodbridge, Friday, 7 p.m.
9. Woodbridge (3-4): Epitomizing his team’s resiliency and refusal to be denied, Jose Leon bulled his way into the end zone with nine seconds remaining for a stunning 27-21 victory over J.F. Kennedy. Leon’s 16-yard touchdown reception on fourth-and-goal from quarterback Anthony Santino erased a one-point deficit and kept alive Woodbridge’s hopes for a postseason berth in what amounted to a must-win game. Playing for injured tailback Ali Lee, Leon caught Santino’s pass in the middle of the field at the 4 yard line in front of a defender and, using Houdini-like skill, somehow managed to escape a slew of would-be tacklers to break the plane of the goal line. Next: at South Plainfield, Friday, 7 p.m.
10. Old Bridge (2-4): Old Bridge quarterback Bryson Corbett gave the Knights a short-lived one-point lead on a 1-yard touchdown run in a 30-7 loss to Sayreville. Tino Sacasa had 87 of Old Bridge’s 144 total yards from scrimmage. Next: Hunterdon Central, Friday, 7 p.m.
