The South Carolina Highway Patrol has released more information on a fatal collision on Bluff Road.
According to SCHP, the accident occurred around 5:53 p.m. and involved three vehicles.
A 2017 Kia and a 2016 GMC pickup truck drove west on Bluff Road, while a 2000 Dodge sedan headed east. The Dodge crossed into the westbound lane and hit the Kia. During this, the GMC truck hit the Dodge sedan.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Saturday afternoon, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as Howard Victor Henderson III, 20, of Hopkins. The cause of death was blunt force trauma of the neck. Henderson was unrestrained at the time of the accident.
EMS transported the driver of the Kia and a passenger to Palmetto Health Richland with serious injuries. The driver wore a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
SCHP continues to investigate this incident.
