Offered exclusively in the crew cab style, the popular GMC Sierra Denali 1500 pickup truck continues to win over motorists with its aggressive good looks and can-do ability. Available in two cargo box sizes (5’ 8” or 6’ 6”), the GMC pickup features those recognizable Denali exterior styling cues most preferred by the motoring public: signature Denali chrome grille, unique 20-inch wheels, six-inch chrome assist steps, body-color bumpers, chrome exhaust tip unique interior decorative trim, a polished stainless steel exhaust outlet, body-color front and rear bumpers and a factory-installed spray-on bed liner with a three-dimensional Denali logo.
Base power for the upscale GMC pickup truck is produced by an EcoTec3 5.3L V8 engine. A 6.2L V8 engine is optional. Torque for both engines is delivered to the rear-wheels via a Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission. 4WD is an available option.
Upgrades and enhancements for the 2017 model year include the Denali Ultimate Package. This package is available on 4WD models and includes 22-inch aluminum wheels, power sunroof, trailer brake controller, tri-mode power steps and chrome recovery hooks. Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking is added to the standard Enhanced Driver Alert Package.
The Sierra Denali features a platform that consists of nearly two-thirds of high-strength steel for a confident feel and improved safety. The main rails and key cross members of the updated frame are also high-strength steel with major elements hydroformed for reduced mass and improved strength.
Shear-style body mounts tune out both up-and-down and side-to-side movement for a quiet, comfortable ride. Additionally, the Denali has a third set of hydraulic body mounts to further isolate the cab. Combined with numerous other acoustic and NVH (noise vibration and harshness) enhancements, the intended result is a solid, refined feel with no loss in traditional truck capability.
Control hardware includes Magnetic Ride Control which delivers more precise body motion control. Its sensors “read” the road every millisecond, triggering damping changes in as little as five milliseconds. The automatic locking rear differential reacts almost immediately in low-traction situations to improve safety and confidence on wet, snowy or muddy surfaces.
Inside the passenger cabin, a high-tech interior with an exclusive eight-inch-diagonal Customizable Driver Display – with unique Denali-themed screen graphics at start-up – shows relevant settings, audio and navigation information in the instrument panel. Denali-specific interior details include script on the bright door sills and embossed into the front seats and real aluminum trim, Bose audio system, heated and ventilated leather-appointed front bucket seats, heated steering wheel and a power sliding rear window with defogger.
