2021 GMC Yukon Shows Production Intent Grille - GM Authority

The all-new 2021 GMC Yukon Denali is on the way, and now we’re getting our first look at the production intent front end and grille thanks to a new set of spy photos.

To note, this particular model is the GMC Yukon XL, the lengthened version of the Yukon line, and it’s decked out in the Denali trim level, the range-topping option.

This prototype marks the first time we’ve seen the new Yukon Denali grille, as previous prototypes were equipped with placeholder units. The model seen here, however, is equipped with a production intent grille, as well as a few other updated elements we’ll cover in follow-up posts.

While the new GMC Yukon grille is obviously obscured, there are a few interesting elements worth pointing out. For starters, the grille insert looks to offer polished horizontal styling elements reminiscent of the current GMC Sierra Denali.

As evidenced by the large grille size, the new 2021 GMC Yukon will offer a front intake that dominates the SUV’s front end, stretching wide between the head lamps and dipping low into the front bumper.

2019 GMC Sierra Denali

GM is currently busy revamping its entire line of full-size SUV models, which includes the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, and GMC Yukon / Yukon XL. The overhaul is scheduled for completion by the 2021 model year, although some of the revamped models will be revealed as early as the end of the 2019 calendar year.

As such, prototypes are now making their way onto public roads, as revealed by this camouflaged 2021 GMC Yukon.

As an all-new model, the 2021 GMC Yukon will feature brand-new styling from tip to tail, lead by a new polished chrome nose. We think the big grille look plays well with the GMC line, and should complement a host of other updates for the model, including a lightened curb weight, all-new GM T1 vehicle platform underpinnings, updated infotainment gear, a potential new rear independent suspension option, and the inclusion of GM Super Cruise autonomous driving technology.
