2. Edison (13-4) – The Eagles ran the three-game table last week, blasting Colonia by 42 points, New Brunswick by 35 points and Woodbridge by 39 points. Things get considerably tougher this week with games against North Brunswick and Bishop Ahr among Edison’s three scheduled outings.

3. J.P. Stevens (12-4) – The Hawks had a great week in conference, scoring victories over East Brunswick and South Brunswick, but didn’t quite enjoy their Saturday meeting with Skyland Conference power Ridge, falling 53-46. Sayreville comes to North Edison on Tuesday, in inter-division GMC action.

4. Piscataway (8-7) – The Chiefs opened their week with a 59-50 win over Old Bridge, but didn’t finish well, falling at Bayonne 60-48 on Saturday. Piscataway gets South Brunswick and Monroe in Red Division action this week, before a Saturday meeting at Mount St. Mary.

5. East Brunswick (11-5) – The Bears began the week with a heartbreaking 50-49 loss to Red Division-leading J.P. Stevens, before rebounding with a conference triumph against Perth Amboy. East Brunswick then headed to Bridgewater-Raritan on Saturday, returning with a 50-41 loss. Old Bridge and South Brunswick are on tap this week.

6. Middlesex (14-1) – The Blue Jays barely broke a sweat last week in a 71-34 topping of Highland Park and a 79-35 blasting of Metuchen. Middlesex should find itself perspiring this week with three games on tap, including a Wednesday meeting with Carteret, which opens the week two games behind the Blue Jays for the GMC Blue Division lead.

7. Sayreville (11-6) – The Bombers handled both North Brunswick and South Plainfield by double digits last week, before seeing their three-game winning streak snapped at top-ranked Bishop Ahr on Saturday. Things stay challenging to open this week, as Sayreville heads to third-ranked J.P. Stevens on Tuesday, before visiting Colonia on Thursday.

8. Monroe (8-6) – The Falcons rebounded from Tuesday’s two-point loss to South Brunswick with a two-point win over Carteret the following day, capping the week by cruising past Metuchen on Saturday. Perth Amboy, Piscataway and Burlington Township are on the schedule for this week.

9. Carteret (13-4) – The Ramblers fell to Monroe 51-49 on Wednesday, before posting a 54-32 victory over Highland Park on Friday. Tough week ahead with home games against Cranford, Middlesex and Dunellen on tap.

10. North Brunswick (9-7) – The Raiders fell to Sayreville on Tuesday, before finishing the week strong, topping J.F. Kennedy and New Brunswick. Edison, South River and South Plainfield provide a challenging slate for North Brunswick this week.
