1. PISCATAWAY (9-0): The Chiefs rolled up 419 yards of total offense and the first string-defense limited its eighth opponent to a touchdown or less as Piscataway coasted to a 42-14 North 2 Group V quarterfinal victory over Bridgewater-Raritan. Next: Ridge, Saturday, 1 p.m.

2. SAYREVILLE (8-1): Connor Holmes caught seven passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a score as the Bombers rolled to a 42-7 Central Group V quarterfinal win over Hillsborough. Next: Manalapan, Friday, 7 p.m.

3. NORTH BRUNSWICK (9-1): The Raiders tied a single-season school record for victories as Myles Bailey rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries in a 40-27 Central Group V quarterfinal win over Trenton. Next: Edison, Friday, 7 p.m.

4. ST. JOSEPH (7-2): The Falcons were idle. Next: at St. Peter’s Prep, Friday, 7 p.m.

5. EDISON (7-2): Noah Stansbury’s league-leading seventh interception was one of three picks his team had on the day for a defensive unit that also made two-goal line stands in a 14-7 Central Group V quarterfinal victory over South Brunswick. Next: at North Brunswick, Friday, 7 p.m.

6. SOUTH BRUNSWICK (5-5): The Vikings outgained Edison 225 to 179 in total yards from scrimmage but could not overcome three turnovers, ineffectiveness in the red zone and the loss of star player Thomas Joe-Kamara to injury in a 14-7 Central Group V quarterfinal loss.

7. COLONIA (6-4): Eric Hamilton threw a pair of scoring strikes and Justice Harris had two touchdown runs in a heartbreaking 34-27 North 2 Group III quarterfinal loss to Randolph.

8. WOODBRIDGE (5-5): Chance Modica totaled 307 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in a 54-19 regional crossover win over Orange.

9. SOUTH PLAINFIELD (5-4): Sammy Nieves amassed 163 yards from scrimmage and scored two touchdowns as the Tigers posted the state’s biggest upset in the opening round of the NJSIAA playoffs with a 17-16 North 2 Group III victory over previously undefeated West Essex, which had an 18-game winning streak snapped. Next: at Rahway, Friday, 7 p.m.

10. MIDDLESEX (5-5): The defending sectional champion Blue Jays squandered a two-touchdown lead and endured a heartbreaking 21-14 overtime loss to Florence in the Central Group I quarterfinals. Next: at Dunellen, Thanksgiving Eve, 6 p.m.
