WOODBRIDGE, NJ - The Spotswood High School cheerleading program had a lot to cheer about this weekend. On Sunday, Spotswood High School's varsity cheerleading squad took home the Red Division title for 17-and-over Performance at the Greater Middlesex Conference Cheerleading Championships. The Chargers are coached by Spotswood High School World History, Psychology and Sociology teacher Colleen Meyers.
The Performance category incorporates both a cheer and halftime dance routine that showcases stunts, basket throws, pyramids and stumbling passes. Spotswood also placed third in the Game Day Performance category for cheer, chant and band dance.
"The team would like to thank the loud and proud Charger faithful for their support at the competition," Meyers said.
Proud parents posted photos and a video of the Red Division winning routine on social media yesterday with many moms and dads thanking the team's long time coach, Meyers for her dedication to the girls and the program.
