Which is the quickest new 2019 off-road truck in the land? Off-road trucks are generally about high clearance, beefy tires, lockers, and skid plates. Still, a modern pickup truck is a versatile vehicle that also serves as a daily driver. This is why we had to find out which one is the quickest in a straight line. It’s for when you are merging onto the highway. It’s in the name of science…

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4

The AT4 off-road package is brand new to the Sierra lineup, and the 2019 Sierra 1500 is an all-new truck to begin with. It starts out with a redesigned frame, suspension components, body and bed with aluminum hood, doors, and tailgate. The AT4 is GMC’s version of the new Silverado Trailboss. The AT4 gets a two-inch suspension lift (over a regular Sierra 1500). It has Rancho shocks, skid plates, and Goodyear Duratrac tires. It’s also packing a 6.2L V8 with the latest Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) cylinder deactivation technology and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The rating is 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and the rear axle has 3.23 differential ratio.

This truck has a lot of high-tech features, including pedestrian detection in the front. The truck proved a bit difficult to launch properly. It does not like to be brake-torqued. Simply taking your foot off the accelerator and stomping on the accelerator does the trick.

2019 Nissan Titan PRO-4X

The Titan PRO-4X does not change much for the 2019 model year. The 2019 model gets an updated infotainment system and an optional Fender premium audio system. Under the hood is the 5.6L V8 that was there before with 390 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The Titan uses a 2.93 rear axle ratio.

This truck is fairly simple to launch, and it does pretty well given less aggressive off-road tires. Nissan’s Endurance V8 is still one of the best sounding V8 truck engines out there.

2019 Ram 1500 Rebel

The 2019 Ram Rebel is all new. It has a new frame, updated suspension, Bilstein shocks, and an one-inch lift over a regular Ram 1500. Under the hood is a 5.7L V8 with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The truck you see here does not have the eTorque mild-hybrid system. The Rebel is rolling on Goodyear Duratrac tires. The rear axle ratio is a 3.92.

The Rebel is also fairly simple to launch, and the HEMI V8 sings a great song at full throttle.
