Colonia 35, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 7: Matt Croteau and Justice Harris combined for five rushing touchdowns as Colonia won the Greater Middlesex Conference/Mid-State Conference crossover. The Patriots (5-3) have won two straight as they look toward the postseason. Croteau finished with 63 rushing yards on eight carries and scored three times, while Justice rushed for 83 yards on 10 carries and punched in two touchdowns. Eric Hamilton threw for 83 yards (4-for-5) and added 98 rushing yards on eight carries. Alessandro Nieri added an interception for the Patriots. Scotch Plains-Fanwood fell to 0-7.

Woodbridge 12, South Plainfield 2: Daetahan Rankins intercepted a pass in the end zone and returned it over 100 yards and caught a 15-yard scoring pass from Anthony Santino as Woodbridge defeated South Plainfield.
The Barrons led 6-2 at halftime and Chance Modica’s 3-yard run with about five minutes left sealed the Woodbridge win. He rushed for 110 yards on 18 carries.
Woodbridge (4-4) has won three straight after starting 1-3 to get back into the postseason picture.
“We’ve been dealing with a lot of adversity this entire year and the guys who have stuck with the process have really put the team first,” Woodbridge coach Joe LaSala said. “I’m super proud of how these guys came back after a 1-4 start to even up our record at 4-4. They never stopped working hard and believing in the coaches and the system and I’m super happy for those guys.”
With about five minutes left in the first quarter, Woodbridge took a 6-0 lead on Santino’s 15-yard pass to Rankins.
In the second quarter. South Plainfield (3-4) tackled the Woodbridge runner in the end zone on a third-and-one to cut the deficit to 6-2.
Right before halftime with South Plainfield driving, Rankins caught a deflection in the end zone and rambled to the Tigers’ 1-yard line. South Plainfield’s Zach DelVecchio chased him down to make the touchdown-saving tackle. South Plainfield stopped Woodbridge on a play before intermission.
Rankins finished with six catches for 50 yards.
LaSala credited the defensive line of Bruce Truppner, Zahir Lovejoy, Amir Mustafa, Stephen Daramola and Matt Zinelli for helping to stop the Tigers.
Middlesex 56, Bishop Ahr 20: Jose Andujar erupted for four touchdowns on 104 rushing yards (12 carries) as Middlesex got the GMC Gold Division win.
The defense also came up big with three touchdowns. Joshua Irvin intercepted two passes, one of which he returned for a score, and also forced a fumble. He added 33 yards of total offense for the Blue Jays (4-3).
Michael Schweyher chipped in a fumble recovery for a touchdown and Stephen Young had an interception return for a touchdown.
Alex Roque added a 15-yard rushing score. Bishop Ahr fell to 4-4.
Carteret 44, New Brunswick 22: Trailing 15-7 at halftime, Carteret exploded for 37 points to snap a four-game slide behind the exploits of senior running back James Henderson and sophomore quarterback Zaire Crutchfield.
Henderson rambled for 254 yards and three touchdowns, while Crutchfield threw for 135 yards and two scores. Jahlil Nix and Stephon Kelley Gordon each caught touchdown passes against New Brunswick (1-6).
Additionally, Malik Austin scored off a blocked punt by Robert Webber as Carteret improved to 3-4 and kept its playoff hopes alive.

Edison 17, J.F. Kennedy 7: Lucas Loffredo threw two touchdown passes – to Noah Stansbury and Orion Gilliam – and Juan Lucumi drilled a 23-yard field goal as Edison (5-2) continued its best start in 18 years.
“Our defense has been a strength for us the whole year,” said Edison coach Matt Fulham, who noted the Mustangs were a well-coached and physical team. “They played very well.”
To open the game, Edison had a 13-play, 7-minute drive that concluded with Lucumi’s field goal. In the second quarter, the Eagles increased their lead to 10-0 on an 11-yard touchdown pass from Loffredo to Stansbury.
The Mustangs cut it to 10-7 going into halftime off a 5-yard run from quarterback David Lee.
After a scoreless third quarter, Loffredo passed downfield to Gilliam, who caught the pass at the 5-yard line and took it in for the 37-yard touchdown. Lucumi’s extra point gave Edison a 17-7 lead with about six minutes left.
Loffredo finished 6-of-10 for 108 yards with no interceptions. Gilliam caught two passes for 67 yards. Dean Escobar had two catches and Kamille Pryor had a catch. Additionally, Danny Maurath had a catch for 24 yards from Frank Vega on a fake punt.
On the ground, Armani Bell rushed for 80 yards on nine carries and Tylor Montford chipped in 54 on seven carries.
If Edison beats Plainfield next week, the sixth win will match the most victories for Edison in Fulham’s 14 seasons.
East Brunswick 53, Monroe 21: Joseph DeGuida finished with four rushing touchdowns and a two-point conversion, and Tim Gudzak rushed for two scores and threw a touchdown as the Bears (1-6) earned their first win of the season.
The shootout was tied 14-14 after the first quarter, but the Bears outscored Monroe 39-7 the rest of the way.
East Brunswick jumped to a 14-0 lead as DeGuida rushed for touchdowns of 25 and 15 yards.
Monroe’s Michael Torsiello then put on a show with a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 61-yard run to tie the game at 14.
The Bears, though, took a 35-21 lead into halftime.
East Brunswick scored on Carlos Tapia’s 23-yard run, a 35-yard pass from Gudzak to Brian Whitelock and a 19-yard run from Gudzak. Monroe (0-7) scored in the quarter on a 15-yard pass from Dylan Gorhan to Brandon Scott.
In the second half, it was all East Brunswick. DeGuida, a 6-foot-0, 170-pound senior, scored on 9 and 18-yard touchdown runs. Gudzak, a 6-4, 220-pound senior, capped the scoring on a 25-yard touchdown run.
Max Dressner kicked three extra points for the Bears.
Summit 46, St. Joseph 20: St. Joseph led 20-8 on the road, but Summit rallied for the 46-20 win to improve to 6-1 in the Greater Middlesex Conference/Mid-State Conference crossover.
Michael Cardinali threw for 207 yards and a touchdown and led the Falcons with 52 rushing yards and two scores. Nate Wyatt had eight catches for 111 yards.
St. Joseph held a 355-332 edge in total yards, but Summit out-rushed the Falcons 220-148.
After a scoreless first quarter, St. Joseph (6-2) took a 13-0 lead in a span of less than two minutes. Cardinali rushed for touchdowns of 1 and 20 yards.
The Hilltoppers answered with a 1-yard touchdown run from Jackson Tyler to cut the deficit to 13-8 with 7:13 left in the first half. Undaunted, Cardinali completed a 36-yard touchdown pass to Wyatt with 3:48 left in the half as the Falcons took a 20-8 lead.
Summit cut the lead to 20-16 on a 1-yard touchdown from Max Jackson with 2:17 remaining in the second quarter.
In the second half, Summit scored five unanswered touchdowns for the 46-20 win.
St. Joseph returns to GMC Blue Division play next Saturday when it hosts J.F. Kennedy.
Hunterdon Central 42, Old Bridge 0: Bryson Corbett had an interception, Sergino Donou had seven tackles and Andrew Vera returned two kickoffs for 105 yards for Old Bridge (2-5) in the loss.
Rhyne Smith and Tino Sacasa combined to rush for 41 yards.
Hunterson Central (4-3) led 16-0 at halftime.
North Brunswick 47, Perth Amboy 0: Myles Bailey rushed for 119 yards on 10 carries and returned a kickoff 87 yards for a score as the Raiders (7-1) extended their winning streak to six games.
Quarterback Christian Petrillo threw a pair of touchdown passes. Sean Breheney scored a touchdown on offense and defense.
According to North Brunswick radio play-by-play announcer Korbid Thompson, Petrillo is the first quarterback in school history to throw two touchdown passes per game in four consecutive contests.
Defensively for the Raiders, Gede Mercillus and Samod Wingo each had 6 1/2 tackles with Ty Parson chipping in 5 1/2 tackles and Chris Arnold adding 4 1/2 tackles. Manny Herrera picked off two passes, while Breheney and Sahmir Session each had an interception.
Mario Luna and Jacob Luna each recorded four tackles for Perth Amboy (3-4). Osiris Acevedo recorded an interception for the Panthers.
South Brunswick 41, J.P. Stevens 13: Thomas Joe-Kamara rushed for 172 yards on 12 carries and three touchdowns as South Brunswick (5-3) got the GMC Red Division win.
Joe-Kamara also caught a touchdown pass from Gage Katzenell-Hall and finished with two catches for 59 yards. Katzenell-Hall went 3-for-5 for 66 yards and no interceptions. The junior quarterback also rushed for a touchdown and Katibu Martin added a rushing TD.
Defensively for the Vikings, Justin Lawson and Sean Goldsmith each had six tackles and Majid Howard-Baker snagged an interception. Martin, Dejhon Thomas and Sameer Sharma each added four tackles.
For J.P. Stevens (3-4), Kasi Hazzard had four catches for 75 yards and a touchdown and added 70 rushing yards on eight carries. Quarterback Joey Young rushed for 35 yards on five carries and a touchdown. In the air, he threw for 100 yards on a 9-for-14 night. Devon Fowlkes added 55 yards of total offense.
