A longtime Indianola auto dealership has a new owner.
Omaha-based car dealer Gregg Young purchased Watters Autoland, 3001 N. Jefferson Way, on Oct. 1, adding a sixth dealership to the company's growing list.
Young has owned Gregg Young Chevrolet of Norwalk since 2014.
“The Watters family has built a great name and a great brand here in Indianola,” CFO Alex Morton said. “We just want to keep that and move it forward. You’ll continue to see the same great and friendly faces here that you always have.”
Morton said all 20 Watters Autoland employees were offered the opportunity to remain with the new company in their same positions.
General Manager Sean O’Leary will head up the dealership, now Gregg Young Buick GMC. O’Leary comes to Indianola from Kansas City.
Young started selling cars in the Omaha area in 1989 and purchased his first dealership in 2000 when he was 34 years old. This is the first Buick GMC dealership in the Gregg Young company.
“We are a very community-friendly company,” Morton said. “We’ll be reaching out to the chamber of commerce, the schools. We’ll be sponsoring teams, participating in parades. Everyone has a connection to the car business because everyone owns a car.”
Morton said Gregg Young dealerships set themselves apart through unique customer service options such as nitrogen-filled tires, 3M door edge guards and a collision deductible waiver.
“If a customer buys a new car from us and has an accident within 12 months of that purchase, we’ll pay up to $500 of their collision insurance deductible,” Morton said.
