GMC FOOTBALL TOP 10

1. Piscataway (8-0): Juwon Jackson rushed for 217 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries as the Chiefs unofficially clinched the top seed for the North 2 Group V playoffs with a 26-0 win over three-time defending sectional champion Westfield. Next: vs. Bridgewater-Raritan, Saturday, 1 p.m.

2. Sayreville (7-1): The Bombers rolled up 363 yards from scrimmage and unofficially clinched the top seed in Central Group V with a 34-28 win over defending sectional champion South Brunswick. Next: vs. Hillsborough, Friday, 7 p.m.

3. North Brunswick (8-1): Myles Bailey rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown as the Raiders unofficially clinched the second seed in the Central Group V playoffs with a 36-0 win over East Brunswick. Next: vs. Trenton, Friday, 7 p.m.

4. St. Joseph (6-2): The Falcons host J.F. Kennedy today.

5. Edison (6-2): Limited Plainfield to 17 yards from scrimmage including minus-20 rushing in a 15-0 win that unofficially clinched the No. 6 seed for the Eagles in the Central Group V playoffs. Next: at South Brunswick, Friday, 7 p.m.

6. South Brunswick (5-4): The defending sectional champions appear to be the No. 3 seed for the Central Group V playoffs after enduring a 34-28 loss to Sayreville in which Thomas Joe-Kamara ran for 56 yards and a score, had 38 receiving yards, intercepted a pass and blocked an extra point. Next: vs. Edison, Friday, 7 p.m.

7. Colonia (6-3): Antonio Alfano registered 11 tackles including seven for a loss as the Patriots unofficially secured the No. 7 seed for the North 2 Group IV playoffs with a 27-12 win over Woodbridge. Next: at Randolph, Friday, 7 p.m.

8. Woodbridge (4-5): Anthony Santino completed 16 of 22 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns as the Barrons were eliminated from contention for a playoff berth with a 27-12 loss to Colonia. Next: Regional crossover game TBD.

9. South Plainfield (4-4): Zach DelVecchio rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown in a 34-0 win over Carteret that unofficially sealed a Central Group III playoff berth for the Tigers. Next: at West Essex, Friday, 7 p.m.

10. Middlesex (5-3): The Blue Jays extended their winning streak to five games as Mike Schweyher rushed for three scores and passed for two touchdowns in a 47-20 win over Metuchen. Next: at Florence, Friday, 7 p.m.
