Boys soccer: South Brunswick earns the top seed in the GMC Tournament

Two-time runner-up South Brunswick was named the top seed in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament when the field was released on Friday.

South Brunswick fell to Monroe in the final last season after losing to North Brunswick in the final in 2016.

The top eight seeds all move directly into the first round, with the play-in and preliminary beforehand.

The first round will be played on Friday, Oct. 19 and the quarterfinals will follow on Tuesday, Oct. 23. the semifinals are set for a doubleheader at Sayreville on Thursday, Oct. 25.

The final will be played at Woodbridge.
