GMC shows a new tailgate feature this week at the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 first drive event in Newfoundland, Canada. It’s a Kicker Audio system that is built into the new folding tailgate. It offers a USB charging port, AUX input, controls, and two speakers with enough power to entertain your next sporting event get-together or job site.
2019 GMC Sierra 1500
You may know that the new 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 has a multi-function tailgate that GM calls “Multi Pro”. It’s a tailgate within a tailgate that offers up to six different configurations. It can serve as a large step, work bench, cargo stop, and now – it can also be a center for tailgate party fun.
Multi Pro tailgate is standard on 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT, AT4, and Denali trim levels. If you don’t want the folding tailgate, you can ask for a regular one when you order. If you don’t want a stereo system inside your tailgate, there is another option for small lights that illuminate the lower folding section.
