Our Big Truck Fits in Beautifully
We stopped for fuel somewhere in Oklahoma before enjoying a storm in the distance as we entered Amarillo, Texas, for some well-deserved Bar-B-Q at Rudy’s before calling it a night. We considered going to the Big Texan Steak Ranch for dinner, but it looked packed, and we weary travelers were in no condition to wait.
Overall, we had a really good day on the road and are on track to be home in two days.

Truck observations: Crosswind travel made easier by Digital Steering Assist
Roadtrip observations: Finally spot a 2019 Ram 1500 outside Oklahoma City; too many unmanned exact-change toll booths (which we didn’t have exact change for); rest stops as a roadside feature—some span both sides of the highway via a bridge, some are in the median between the highway, and some are built into the hillsides; 75mph speed limits; credit card cuts off at $95, which isn’t enough for a full tank of fuel; you can buy fireworks
Road conditions: Highway and toll roads; we missed a turn, costing us yet another toll, not to mention delay and confusion
