Boys Basketball: This week's HNT/GMC Top 10

1. Linden (7-1): Linden has won two in a row against Timber Creek and Union since falling to Porter-Gaud (S.C.) on Dec. 30. Led by senior Tavon Jones (23.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game) the Tigers will look to add to the win column with a number of Union County Conference games coming up. Linden hosts Elizabeth on Thursday night, plays Plainfield on Friday night and heads to the Patrick School on Tuesday.  

2. Piscataway (7-1): Since falling to East Orange on Dec. 27, Piscataway has won three in a row and maintains the top spot in the Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division at 4-0. The Chiefs faced division foe East Brunswick on Thursday night and have another Red Division matchup against J.P. Stevens on Saturday before facing Bishop Ahr at Kean University on Sunday.

3. Sayreville (8-1): Sayreville has won three in a row since falling to Colts Neck on Dec. 30, with wins against Edison, North Brunswick and Monroe. The Bombers are atop the GMC White Division at 4-0, with division games against Woodbridge on Thursday and New Brunswick on Saturday. 

4. Bishop Ahr (9-1): Bishop Ahr has been on a eight-game win streak since falling to Sayreville on Dec. 16. The Trojans have averaged close to 68 points per game in those eight wins and are on top of the GMC Blue Division at 6-0. Behind Alex Santiago's 18.8 points per game, Bishop Ahr will look to add to its win total with a game against Piscataway on Sunday at Kean.

5. St. Joseph (6-1): St. Joseph is in the midst of a five-game win streak, but has not played a game since a win over J.P. Stevens on Jan. 2. The Falcons returned to action against South Brunswick on Thursday night. 

6. Old Bridge (6-3): Old Bridge as won three of its last four games, with wins over Ocean Twp., East Brunswick and J.F. Kennedy, and a lost against St. John Vianney on Saturday. The Knights have three GMC Red Division games coming up with Monroe on Thursday, St. Joseph (Met.) on Saturday and South Brunswick on Tuesday. 

7. Colonia (6-3): Since starting the season 0-3, Colonia has turned the corner and has won its last six games, averaging 54 points per game during those victories. The Patriots' balanced scoring attack and strong defense will look to pick up wins against North Brunswick on Thursday and Edison on Saturday. 

8. Woodbridge (5-2): Woodbridge bounced back from back-to-back losses against Colonia and Piscataway with a 70-65 win over North Brunswick on Tuesday. The Barrons have a stretch of tough games coming up, with Sayreville on Thursday, Bridgewater-Raritan on Saturday and Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Sunday at Kean. 

9. Carteret (6-3): Carteret has won three of its last four games, with victories over Edison, Metuchen and South River. The Ramblers will face Spotswood on Thursday before facing off against Sayreville on Sunday at Kean. 

10. Middlesex (6-3): Middlesex had a two-game win streak snapped with a loss to Bishop Ahr on Wednesday. Behind Jake Robel, who is averaging a double-double with 15.7 points and 10.8 rebounds per game so far this season, the Blue Jays will look to get back on track against South Plainfield on Friday.
